Director's bio
Tianna Rhymes | 32 is an emerging filmmaker based in Cleveland, Ohio. Her work centers on storytelling rooted in lived experience, true events, and moments that inspire reflection and personal shift. She is drawn to stories that feel honest, grounded, and emotionally resonant, with the intention of creating work that moves people and invites deeper thought.
Without a formal background or traditional training in filmmaking, Tianna entered the craft through instinct, curiosity, and action. She stepped into the process without a roadmap, learning by doing and committing fully to the work as it unfolded. Her perspective is shaped by experience and a deep interest in purpose, identity, and personal growth.
Inspired by Black filmmakers and storytellers such as John Singleton and Spike Lee, Tianna is committed to preserving Black film, Black stories, and Black cinema through documentary storytelling rooted in lived truth. In a time where storytelling is often driven by fantasy, her work seeks to honor real experiences and keep cultural narratives alive.
The Fine Tooth Comb marks a continuation of her commitment to telling stories that explore becoming, discipline, liberation, and the pursuit of meaning.
